The Recreational Cannabis Industry in Maine requires all Adult Use Cannabis Retail Stores to have State of Maine mandatory testing on ALL products sold. This ensures the safety of customers as each test is filtered through a statewide system called METRC. METRC is the interstate for adult use cannabis and unless products have a “test passed” status; they are unable to be transferred to retail stores or other cultivation facilities. After the Licensed Lab has uploaded the certificate of passed testing to METRC the product becomes available for sale. All products are tested to be sure there is no detection of, or that levels are consistent with safe standards set by the OCP (Office of Cannabis Policy) & Labs. Some of the tested items are: Yeast, Mold, Heavy Metals, Pesticides, Mycotoxins, Butane, Ethanol, THC, THCA, and more. Currently, there is no testing requirement / track or trace requirement for the Medical Cannabis Industry.
Testing is an expense that The Cabin welcomes as we are proud to offer safe, clean, tested product for our customers. We also try not to make this unaffordable for those who use cannabis as part of their wellness.
